Yaar... Ratched ko dekh kar legend Alfred hitchcock ki yaad aa gaya, jisme har frame mey suspecion hai, har characters mey 10 layers, music jo suspense to aur bada de. Ryan Murphy jo Ratched series ke director kaamal hi kar diya hai...

Aage badhne sey pehle ek sawal, Yehe series kis Seher mey based hai. Comment karna mat bhulna...

Chalo lets discuss the storlyline, acting and a lot of other plus points about this series.

Ratched is based on the novel - One flew over the cuckoo's nest.
Ratched ek extremely extremely Stylish 1940s ke era based series hai jo aapko ussi ero mey le jaati hai. Uss time ka fashion, cars, societal norms pitch perfect tareeke sey dikhaye hai...

Ratched Storyline :
Ratched web series released on Netflix and is a suspense drama series that tells the origin story of asylum nurse Mildred Ratched. In 1947, Mildred arrives in Northern California to seek employment at a leading psychiatric hospital where new and unsettling experiments have begun on the human mind. On what looks like a clear mission, Mildred presents herself as the perfect image of a dedicated nurse.
Slowly the the dark side of this 5 star mental asylum or as they call it spa, began to unfold many dirty truths.


There are many things in this psycho crime series that fascinated me.

Firstly, how each characters unfold, ek layer ke baad ek. Beautifully done. Full of grey shades as people are normally in real life. Koi pitch perfect to hota nahi hai.

Secondly, Use of prominent colours to describe the characters and situation etc.
Every frame is beautiful and in a large canvas. Use of pastle colours in the background and a bright colour in the foreground in the form of solid colour to give striking emphasis like red/green dresses, lipstick shades or even carpets, bed linen or even cars with striking metallic colour (teal).
Red and Green has been used frequently depreciating Anger and deception.


Thirdly, building & Architectures of 1940s like wall Art, clothes, hats, wood work, chandelier , cars specifically will take you back in time i.e. 1940s era.
precision everywhere... Font styling right from the web series logo is of the 40s. Matalab Iss Tareke ke production design ke liye kaafi paise lage honge aur clear evident hai.

Forthly, Important matter like Child abuse and Philadelphia are dealt with utmost care and delivers the rightful message i.e. How the society can open up and fight with such evils. You will relate to it, feel angry, and may be want to bring changes around you.

Lastly, one thing I loved very much was...
While we Indian, imagine the western world as modern and open always... but that wasn't the reality in mid 19th century.
there were some taboos and racism back then. Matter of same sex preference was a shame / taboo or even considered as a mental disease back then and secondly, non-American were treated very badly. Infact they could be asked to pay first to eat at a sit down dinning place, which is quite an embarrassment.

Ratched Characters
Acting by all is marvelous, else itni intense / suspense sey bhai series ban hi nahi sakti thi...
Special mention to 3 characters:
-Sarah Paulson as Nurse Ratched.
-Finn Wittrock as Edmond.
And
-Sophie okonedo as Charlotte wells are mind-blowing.

Personally my favorite character is Charlotte Wells... What a talent... I will be waiting for the second season to see her again.
 
Overall this series will surprise you with some unexpected twists and turns. Aap bas guess karte rahoge ke kya hone wala hai aur aap second season ki wait karoge.
Plus aesthetically it is a very rich series with detailing to the tee of mid 40s.
Aur kya chahiye aapko... Bas ab dekh dalo. Iski IMDB rating is also touching 7.7, which is superb.
