Best action adventure Movie | The Old guard movie review released on Netflix | Movieshuvie | Manav

 

Hi guys... Welcome back to Movieshuvie.

In this O.T.T war , Netlfix is been playing on their strength of having vast content /titles library from various parts of the world and is releasing movies and series in India from across the globe. Recently they dubbed and released a hit series called "mu-hafiz" / "the protector", from Istanbul. 

It was action adventure series where the mu-hafiz saves the world from the immortals. The series is a huge hit in Istanbul and it's dubbed Hindi version is liked by children in India.

Old guard, is a similar action adventure movie released in English and Hindi language as well. Old guard, however, has three major differences. 

Firstly, unlike, "the protector", here the immortals are shown as good souls that are saving the world. Secondly, here the team is lead by a women called Andy, played by Charlize Theron, and that too very effectively. 

Thirdly, here the fight isn't with some supreme power but with greedy humans who wants to posses, immortals powers to live forever. 

This is an interesting conflict. While humans have always done experiments to progress and find ways to kills diseases that have taken many life's. Then why is it wrong to experiment on immortals to find medicines that can cure many diseases for human kind. 

Director has addressed this conflict in a rather simplistic manner, that is by showing a crazy CEO of a pharmaceutical company, who has all the evil and villianous ways to find immortals, torture them and experiment on them, to make a medicine that can cure dangerous diseases.

But this torture will obviously supersede the bigger noble agenda for making medicines for curing diseases, and viewers become pro immortals and sympathise with them.

Let's us proceed to a quick view on the storyline.

Led by a warrior named Andy (Charlize Theron), a covert group of tight-knit mercenaries with a mysterious inability to die have fought to protect the mortal world for centuries. But when the team is recruited to take on an emergency mission and their extraordinary abilities are suddenly exposed to some group of humans. Now it's up to Andy and Nile (Kiki Layne), the newest soldier in the group to eliminate the threat of those who seek to replicate and monetize their power by any means necessary.

Direction is simple in this linear story. Charlize as Andy is effective. 

So, guys in today's time where most movies and web series have curse words or explicit scenes, "old guard" is a good option to sit together with the family for 2 hours and enjoy this action adventure. 

It is a Clean movie with no nudity or profanity and is also Available in Hindi, so you can enjoy the movie in your mother tongue. 

Finally, if you believe in feminism, the see it for Women power. Andy A.K.A Charlize Theron leads the way with precision.
