Bala Movie Review : Ayushmann Khurrana is HAIR to stay | 5 Stars

Bala is such a well made film that if a guy sees a broken/fallen hair (here and there), he will get a panic attack for sure.
The subject is very sensitive for people who lose their hair prematurely and are made fun of / judged by the society. The movie teaches to accept and love your own self regardless of some piddly deficiencies like hair, colour, caste , religion, etc etc.
My reviews don't dwell into narrating stories that much because I feel that is narration and not a review with insights that are human.

So lets try to see/answer why we or public is liking Bala.
There few good men behind it starting with the director, story writer, editor and screenplay. Amar Kaushik,  Niren Bhatt, Ravi Shankar Muppa and Himanti Shankar respectively are the people who made a delightful and Revelating experience for the viewers.

There are nuances that are well captured and makes us like/believe what we see on screen. If you think along me, following will strike you as well...

1. Promo - The first interest to see a movie is through a promo. The issue of baldness in a fun manner was shown well and in a very crisp manner.
2. Character name as Bala itself is a funny satire I think.
3. Credibility of the main lead i.e. Ayushmann 's casting was important for this kind of a movie. He is now known to pick different / deeper subjects. He is gaining lot of popularity with GenX and with brands for endorsements.
4. The screenplay is as real as it can get. Middle class setup is shown unapologetic like the condition of the house, bikes on which the protagonist travels, clothes etc etc.
5. Location is setup in a small town intentionally. In Teir 1 cities people are quite self assured. Say for example we might have lot of bald, dark colour friends in corporate hubs like Gurgaon, Pune , Bangalore etc. We do still joke but knows that other receiving person is an achiever and will take it lightly.... Infact, give it back like a banter. In small town, people are constantly trying to proved their worth financially, social status or by looks. Everyone is so very connected and talks are bound to happen.
6. I am quite intrigued by Yami Gautam's character of Pari as well. She is raised like a Pari. Looks awesome/preety. Has a very clear realization, what is making her successful while academically she was poor.
7. Fun quotient of finding various baldness solution will make you laugh and feel for the guy's effort.
8. Dialogues are mostly unfiltered and not filmy. We speak the same way in normal lives.
9. Ending which is not a typical couple coming together or a rebound, is more real. Self discovery and moving on with purposeful life is what we all relate to.
10. Lastly, the Karma. Bala got the taste of what he did to his childhood friend Nikita, played by Bhumi. See the movie to know more.

Oh beta! Its a 10 on 10 above... Reason for Bala's success I guess. Go watch it and share your views... ....
