Sanjay what have you created? A masterpiece...
#BajiraoMastani will not just be remembered for its extravagant sets but also for its superb direction. I am completely astonished to see how Sanjay has taken a deep dive in each character and shown relationships and their behavior so crystal clear. Sanjay surely has attained wisdom.
It is story about a warrior who is married, loves his wife but still falls in love with another warrior girl - Mastani. Very clearly, there isn't an attempt by the director to prove someone right or wrong. The reactions on this new found love by Bajirao/his family/wife/peers/so-called daram custodians are all right as per their own sensibilities or society pressures during that era.
While mix-reaction from the audience is certain & they will go critical about the 2nd love story. Many will find it against society norms (unethical) to get indulged with another women when you have a lovely wife (and more so when you yourself love her a lot).
Slightly sensible people or people who does not have a straight life will contradict and will give a thumbs up to the love triangle. To them 2nd time love in parallel with 1st love is possible.
Well it is not so easy to understand this psychological behavior of human beings. An individual has different kind of needs from partners - they draws emotional, physical, monitory, sexual etc strength/confidence from each other. No individual or relationship is perfect and that creates an unknown room or desire get an emptiness fulfilled from another person. All this happens unknowingly most of the times. With opposite sex, the situation complicates a bit. One starts accepting them as another important person in life that fills the emptiness of a kind.
This situation is super complex and shown beautifully by the storyteller in Bajiro Mastani. He has managed to show a situation where it is not about making a choice to be one women but a situation wherein a man get complete when both the women are around him with defined role in his life.
Needless, to say the above can happen with a women as well.
The movie is lifted by some superb acting by all - Ranvir Singh, Deepika, Priyanka, Milind Soman, Tanvi Azmi and all others. You will taken back into that era and will feel part of the story.
A must watch for good content lovers. 5/5 stars.
