A social comedy starring Rajkummar Rao & Nushrratt Bharuccha! Chhalaang is a hilarious, yet inspirational journey of a PT Master from a semi government funded school in Northern India. Montu (Rajkummar Rao) is a typical PT Master for whom it’s just a job. When circumstances put everything that Montu cares for at stake, including Neelu (Nushrratt Bharuccha) who he loves, Montu is forced to do what he has never done - Teach. Through Montu’s journey, Chhalaang humorously addresses the value of Sports Education in school curriculum.
From the trailer itself, the story was clear and such sports drama are different only when they leave deal a new EXPERIENCE.
Such sports drama movies are made in the past as well like Chak de, thodi sofesticated student of the year, football, dangal, sultan etc etc. BUT these filmo made an impact because of solid purpose to win, solid performances, a thrilling / edgy match with a tight screenplay and last a win from an underdog for whom the viewers shows maximum concern.
#Chhalaang However has some flaws as the story is stale and is drag. Direction is flat, script is lengthly to hold attention and music is ordinary. Acting is however is the saving grace... Rajkumar Rao, Nushrat Barucha, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and the supporting cast saves the day with their flawless charm.
Some moments however will bring smile on your face.
To conclude, this movies is a one time watch atleast during this extended Diwali weekend.
